May Newsletter

Greetings from Muse!

Greetings from Muse!

Michele is going on Vacation!  Hard to believe, we know.  She will be gone for the first two weeks of May visiting Florence and Tuscany.  While she is gone Anita and Brooke will be holding down the fort with regular store hours.  Come in and say hello!

LotÕs of fun things are happening in May.  First up is St. HelenaÕs annual sidewalk sale on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.  We will have lots of great yarn on sale and the $3 bins will also make an appearance.  All sale yarn is 40% off and bags of 10 are 50% off.  Next is MotherÕs Day.  Why not knit something special for your mother?  If she is a knitter, consider giving her something she wouldnÕt purchase for herself like our beautiful wooden needles with silver accents, a project bag or a gift certificate?  Finally we will be having a party here to celebrate our new home and garden embellishments on May 23rd from 5-8pm.  We will send out an email with more details later this month.

Do you love working with Rowan yarns? We now have the details on RowanÕs knitting club in the store.  For $46 you get both Rowan magazines that are published during the year, a free knitting project and 2 patterns, twice-monthly free pattern and access to an online pattern archive, and discounts on pattern books.  If you are interested, come by and a pick up a flier.

Last but not least, would you like to make money by coming up with an original sock pattern?  XRX is sponsoring a sock designing contest.  You might win up to $6,000 dollars in a variety of categories.  We have all the info you need in the store!

Best to you,

Michele & Brooke

WhatÕs New?

Yarn Š  We received even more colors of the Tahki Cotton Classic.  This yarn is great for spring/summer projects like our tile stitch wrap and multi-colored baby hats.  We also received more colors of the Colinette Jitterbug.  Not only is the yarn great for socks but it looks great in lace, wraps, and for baby sweaters.  It is a washable wool yarn and we highly recommend using SOAK to keep the colors bright.

Products Š  Coming in this month will be unique bags and needle cases from vintage and found fabrics.  These would make a great motherÕs day gift!

Patterns Š Blue Sky has put out their Spring line of patterns.  Included are a few womenÕs cardigans and an adorable baby cardigan from their handspun cotton.  You could also use RowanÕs new Purelife organic cotton for some of these patterns.
